Winter Storm Update for Commere City

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning remains in effect for Commerce City through Saturday. Winter storm conditions are expected to continue throughout the evening and the city will remain on accident alert as long as conditions require, possibly through tomorrow afternoon.

Based on weather forecasts, the Commerce City Recreation Center will close at 4 p.m. today, canceling all evening classes and activities. The center will be open to patrons tomorrow (Saturday) from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., but youth gymnastics and youth basketball are canceled.

The city’s nine plows have been clearing the roadways and will be in operation throughout the storm. Primary arterial streets within the city are clear and crews are now working on secondary streets throughout the city. The primary focus of the city’s public works department will be to keep the main streets as clear as possible throughout the evening.
