In March 2012, Adams County began an internal investigation in response to information that controlled substances were being distributed among several county employees in the Human Services Department. County officials promptly informed law enforcement and a criminal investigation began.
As a result of the county’s internal investigation, two county employees were terminated in May 2012 and two additional employees were placed on administrative leave with pay.
Today, based on information provided by the District Attorney’s Office to Adams County officials, the county placed one additional employee on administrative leave with pay and a county contractor has placed one of its employees on administrative leave.
Adams County will continue to evaluate the employees involved in accordance with its policies and applicable law.
