October day trips include elk bugling, fall festival, ghost tours and more

COMMERCE CITY – The Recreation Center staff, in the spirit of the fall season, has planned a variety of colorful excursions in October. Adults 50 and older are invited to join us on these fun day trips that take full advantage of the sights and sounds of fall.

Good companions help make these trips fun. For each excursion, you will join a group of like-minded day-trippers and enjoy something new and exciting.

Take a scenic drive to Rocky Mountain National Park , where you can hear elk bugling at the start of their mating season. Listen to some toe-tappin’ Dixieland jazz from the popular Queen City Jazz Band. Visit pioneer exhibits, including Denver ’s oldest standing structure, during the Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Four Mile Historic Park . Or get into the spirit of Halloween with two separate tours of Denver-area haunts.

From fall festivals to Halloween haunts, and from fishing to movies and dinner out, October outings promise a good time for all. All tours and trips leave from and return to the Commerce City Recreation Center .
