PRIMROSE PRESCHOOLERS PACK THE BACKPACKS

Students Helping Students Start the School Year off Right

It’s that time of year when students everywhere are picking out their favorite folders, choosing just the right pencils and filling their backpacks with all the materials they need to start the school year off right. While students at the Primrose School at Reunion get ready for Back to School Night with all the benefits of a fully stocked resource room, there are many students in our community who do not have this luxury. As Primrose students write about their friends and families, create maps of their classrooms and draw pictures of themselves and their teachers doing activities at school, the teachers and children are talking about the pencils they’re using to write, the scissors they’re using to cut and the markers they’re using to color. The children are learning that not all students are as fortunate as they are to have the same materials they do. They’re also learning that they can change this and make a difference by reaching out a helping hand. Throughout the past several weeks, Primrose students and their families have donated boxes full of school supplies, which our Kindergarten students gave to Hanson Elementary School on Friday, September 11th. Hanson Elementary is one of the district’s neediest schools with a high rate of low-income families.

Primrose Schools strongly believes in education and providing the building blocks to a better future. They carry this belief not only to their own students, but to other students in their communities and beyond. Please join us in recognizing how proud we are of our students and their families. The initiative and compassion they demonstrated throughout this charitable event will help build a better foundation of education for other children in our community.
