Commerce City Police, Train vs. Pedestrian, any information please call (303) 287-2844

COMMERCE CITY ― On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 01:01 a.m., Commerce City police officers responded to the 7200 block of Highway 2 reference a pedestrian being struck by a train. Once on scene, officers discovered a 17 year old Commerce City resident under the train in the 7600 block of Highway 2. Burlington Northern/Santa Fe railroad employees stated that just prior to impact they observed the juvenile lying on the tracks. The juvenile was transported to Denver Health Medical Center and is listed in stable condition with serious injuries.

The Commerce City Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Any witnesses with additional information are asked to contact the Commerce City Police Department at (303) 287-2844.

The name of the juvenile is being withheld at this time until next of kin can be notified.
