Nearly 200 adult cats in need of homes
DENVER (September 23, 2009) – The Dumb Friends League is hoping to find homes for hundreds of cats by offering a special adoption fee of $25 for adult cats (1 year or older) through the end of October. Between both shelters, the Dumb Friends League currently has nearly 200 adult cats available for adoption.
If you’re interesting in adopting twice the love, you can adopt two adult cats for one adoption fee of $25 -- the “Best Friends Forever” or “BFF” special. “Many cats do better in pairs, as they enjoy the company,” says Theresa Geary, vice president of the Dumb Friends League. Often times people are gone during the day, and giving your newly adopted cat a buddy will keep them both happy.”
People who aren’t prepared to adopt but would still like to help might consider being a foster care volunteer. Foster homes are needed for healthy adult cats, cats recovering from minor illnesses and kittens too young for adoption. Call (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7627, or visit ddfl.org for more information.
