Rep. Perlmutter to Receive Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Mountain States Chapter ‘Legislator of the Year’ Award

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) will receive the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Mountain States Chapter ‘Legislator of the Year’ Award at their annual awards dinner.

“I am honored to receive this award from the Mountain States PVA. In August, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Eric Shinseki and members of the Colorado Congressional Delegation were at the Anschutz Medical Campus for the groundbreaking of the new stand-alone VA Medical Center at Fitzsimons in Aurora. That great day was due to the coordinated and focused work of the PVA and many former and current elected officials. I am especially proud the new hospital will include a 30-bed spinal cord injury unit. This means veterans with spinal cord injuries will be able to get the specialized care they need here in Colorado without traveling to New Mexico and Washington . I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to make sure the new VA Medical Center gets the funding to start serving our veterans as soon as possible,” stated Perlmutter.
