Brighton police have identified the young girl killed in a fatal crash on Interstate 76 as 2 year-old Aileen J. Rodriguez, of Rock Island, IL. The toddler was a passenger in a minivan which was stopped along the shoulder of eastbound lanes when it was struck from the rear by a rental truck. She had been secured in a child-safety seat.The driver of the truck, 55 year-old James Diggs, of Ann Arbor, MI, was arrested without incident upon his release from an area hospital at about 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Diggs was booked into the Adams County Detention Facility on charges of Careless Driving Causing Death, Careless Driving Causing Injury, and Compulsory Insurance.
