COMMERCE CITY – Want some quick information on summer camp? How about a map showing how to get to Pioneer Park? Or, maybe you’re looking to add some fun to your leisure time with a pottery, painting or drawing class? You’ll find all this information and more online at Commerce City’s newly expanded Parks and Recreation Web site, www.c3gov.com (click on Parks and Recreation).
On April 1, the city officially launched the much-expanded Web site, offering residents a one-stop shop for parks and recreation information, events, activities and programs. Included with the new Internet ‘shop’ is online registration for classes and other activities.
“We’re excited to launch this new site,” said city Recreation Manager Farrell Buller. “All the information regarding classes, the golf course and more is now in one place – it’s very interactive and will save residents time and money.”
Buller said the new site offers online registration for recreation programs, and is much more convenient as participants can look up information 24 hours a day.
From weightlifting to swimming, ballet to basketball, you’ll find information on fitness and exercise classes on the Parks and Recreation site, including fees, class hours and a detailed class description.
Residents 50 and older can plan their days from a variety of outings, classes and events offered through the Senior Center. Golfers can check out the course layout at Buffalo Run Golf Course, get information on fees and even book a tee time. Hikers, bikers and joggers can get maps of trails and amenities throughout the community.
Whatever your game, you’ll find league information all in one spot. You’ll also find information on athletic facility rentals, a park use application and online registration for youth leagues.
Another new site feature is a parks map; it lists amenities such as shelters, bathrooms, basketball courts, etc., at each park and allows visitors to view the park site on a map for help getting there.
The expanded site is easy to use and easy to find – visit the city’s Web site at www.c3gov.com and click on Parks and Recreation. Of course, personal visits are always welcome and staff is always available to answer questions and aid residents. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Center at (303) 289-3760.
