Recreation Center activities offer cure for spring fever

If your teen-ager has spring fever, the Commerce City Recreation Center has the cure! Area teens are invited to join the excitement at special teen nights during April, or just drop by now through May for a few hours of fun with friends.

Drop-in activities
Teens love to hang out, and the Recreation Center features a teen room just for that. Open 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, youths 11-18 can bring a friend or find one already here for lots of fun activities.

Chalk up a cue and try a few games of pool, or grab a paddle and smash one over the net in a game of ping-pong. Make a craft, put together puzzles, or play the Nintendo Wii in the teen room.

The fee for teen drop-in activities is included in the facility drop-in fee. Call (303) 289-3760 for drop-in rates. Drop-in activities end May 31 – don’t miss out!

April Teen Nights
Middle-school and high-school youths can test themselves and each other at special Fear Factor nights that will challenge them in several ways. Participants will race through an obstacle course and take the food challenge while trying to beat the clock and prove that fear is not a factor for them.

April 18 Middle School Night (grades 6-8 only)
April 25 High School Night (grades 9-12 only); must show school ID

Events on both nights are 7-10 p.m. The fee is $2 per person.

For more information on these or other teen programs, check out the expanded Parks and Recreation Web site at www.c3gov.com (click on Parks and Recreation) or call Jenna Sutheimer, youth services coordinator, at (303) 289-3674.
