The Derby neighborhood was a finalist in the Neighborhood of the Year award through the Neighborhoods USA organization. The 34th annual conference is being held this week in Spokane. Derby has won second place in the Best Neighborhood Program for physical revitalization!Derby neighborhood resident, Robert Romine took the lead in assembling a presentation to NUSA that outlined the vast efforts of multiple organizations and individuals that have helped to launch the physical revitalization efforts in Derby . The broad-based community development activities that are present in Derby were well received by conference attendees from around the world.
Derby, Commerce City, and Colorado have been well represented this week by a small delegation of Commerce City residents and business men and women.
We should all be very proud of this award. It is an acknowledgement of our hard work, dedication and commitment to Derby . And, it also creates a positive milestone for us to work from. Derby is just getting warmed up.
