Monaco Park closed during construction work

COMMERCE CITY – Monaco Park, including the picnic shelters, is closed to the public for the next several weeks as crews replace the irrigation system throughout the site. The park, at 5790 Monaco St. is scheduled to reopen in July.

Signs informing visitors about the closure, as well as construction activities and open trenches in the park, are posted at the picnic shelters on site. Along with work on the irrigation system, the city is renovating both volleyball courts, which will include replacing the borders, posts and nets.

Additional improvements to Monaco Park are being considered – including picnic shelters along the south side, new trash cans, benches, barbecue grills, restroom enclosures and upgraded landscaping – and may be added during the park closure.

Commerce City offers 15 parks and more than 25 miles of trails for residents to enjoy. For a complete listing of parks and amenities offered at city parks and local trails, visit the expanded Parks and Recreation Web site at www.c3gov.com (click on Parks and Recreation).
