DERBY BUSINESS ASSOCIATION MOVING STEADILY FORWARD

Even though times may seem tough, the Derby Business Association just keeps moving forward. The Derby Business Association met this past Tuesday for its regular monthly meeting. Led by President Mark Albers of Derby’s Aspen Mortuary, the meeting focused on the DBA’s participation in the Derby Daze Celebration, which takes place on Saturday June, 13. This year, the Derby Business Association has a special promotion planned, sure to bring attention to the Derby Area.

This year the Derby Business Association will have a punch card for everyone who stops by their booth to pick up their “DERBY-GIVE ‘EM the BUSINESS” punch card. Participants will have one week to stop by all of the businesses on the list and get their validations. Once the card is filled out from all of the participating Derby Businesses, participants are then become eligible to enter a drawing for a dinner for SIX! at EL JARDIN RESTAURANT, generously contributed by Ben Martinez with round trip limousine service compliments of Steve Douglas, owner of BY REQUEST LIMOUSINE. Not only will people have a chance to win dinner for six and a limo ride, but most of the businesses will also have something of value available for each person who stops in to get their card validated as an additional incentive for visiting their place of business.

After obtaining validation from the list, those entering the drawing can take the completed ad card to the Derby Resource Center by Friday June the 19th. The winner will be announced in the Gateway’s June 25th edition. Complete drawing details will be available at our Derby Daze Booth for anyone wishing to join in the fun. This year’s Derby Daze event is extra special as we celebrate our prestigious honor of receiving 2nd place in the 2009 NUSA Neighborhood of the Year Award.
