CARROLL HARR NAMED TO HALL OF FAME

Carroll Harr, Interim Career and Technical Education Director at Adams City High School, was inducted into the Colorado Association of Career and Technical Education on July 15 in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the annual Awards Banquet.

Mr. Harr’s educational career started as a high school business education teacher at Lone Star School. He has impacted incalculable number of students from the following schools: Lone Star, Adams City High School, Kearney Junior High School, Ft. Lupton High School, and Denver Lutheran High School. He spent nine years as the Vocational Director, Assistant Principal, and Interim Principal at Adams City High School. Mr. Harr also taught adult courses for Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado, and Community College of Denver. Even though he retired ten years ago, Mr. Harr has continued to work in education in a variety of administrative jobs where he continues to have a positive impact on students.

Professional involvement has been a focus for Mr. Harr. He became an officer in the business division when he attended his first Colorado Vocational Association Conference. He has been the Colorado Vocational Association (today the Colorado Association of Career and Technical Education) Treasurer, President, Past President, as well as the Secretary, President, and Past President of the Business Division.
Mr. Harr has served on numerous committees and spent countless hours preparing for conferences and presentations at both state and national conferences. He was an innovative source for one of the first computer business labs in a high school setting in Colorado. He was a resource for several early business education textbooks for computer education.

Mr. Harr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Colorado State College (later became the University of Northern Colorado, UNC). He continued at UNC to earn a Master’s degree in Business Education. He attended Colorado State University (CSU) in 1978 and earned his certifications as a Secondary School Principal and Vocation Director. Since then Mr. Harr has been awarded countless awards for his contributions to education.

Carroll Harr is married to Dolores and has two children. Dolores is a retired Professor from Community College of Denver. His daughter Julia is a petroleum engineer in Denver and his son James is a Aerospace Engineer also of Denver. He has four grandchildren.
