Investigation Conclusion Requires Clarification of Citizen Communication

Robert Romine, a Commerce City, Colorado and US citizen felt it prudent to report to the Commerce City council via citizen communication that he had information regarding a man posing as a waterman. This individual apparently working in Commerce City and northeast Denver was going door to door offering to do a water survey for residents and then illegally charging the residents for the service. Mr. Romine goes on stating that the South Adams County Water Department and Denver District Attorney’s Office have a case filed in their offices and in the process of trying to cease the activity.

Investigation into the matter revealed that both the Denver District Attorney’s Office and the Adams County District Attorney’s office have never heard of such a incident and are not currently working on any such case presently.

Information about a man posing as a waterman was brought up at the South Adams Water board meeting but not in the context Mr. Romine reported to the Commerce City council.

The video of Mr. Romine’s citizen communication can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3z-1RjCoB4

It is important with the LIVE real time council stream that citizens who do communicate with the Commerce City council during the citizen communication portion of council meetings have the most accurate and updated information possible to reduce confusion and unnecessary fear.
