MEET THE CANDIATES/ELECTED RECEPTION AND THE CHAMBER CHALLENGE 5K RUN/WALK

METRO NORTH REGION, COLO --- The Metro North Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the “Meet-the-Candidates/Elected Reception” event on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center – Community Room (11151 Colorado Blvd., Thornton).

Meet-the-Candidates/Elected Reception is part of our 4th Annual Chamber Challenge 5K Run/Walk event. This event is geared towards health and wellness in our communities. This event is open to the public and we encourage everyone to participate in both the run/walk and the reception.

Last year the Chamber Challenge 5K brought in a record of 250 runners and 54 teams and with more than 400 people in attendance for the after party combined with the reception.

This year the race will be held at the Multipurpose Fields Trails on 108th and Colorado Blvd. in Thornton right next store to the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center. Registration is at 5 p.m. and the race starts at 5:45 p.m. Immediately after the race the after party and Meet-the-Candidate/Elected reception will begin. This will be a night you don’t want to miss!

This year the after party and reception includes live music, great food & drinks (Baker St. Pub & Grill; BJ’s Restaurant; Big City Burrito; El Jardin Mexican Restaurant and Village Tavern), door prizes and an awards ceremony. This event gives people a chance to meet and greet with the candidates and elected officials one-on-one and to learn about the issues at hand.

Todd Steward, CEO of North Suburban Medical Center and Title Sponsor for the Chamber Challenge states, “It’s great to see such a diverse group of businesses come together to support health and wellness in their companies and in the community.”
