Community Health Services (CHS) Announces the Grand Opening Celebration for the new Wellness Center at Adams City High School

Commerce City, CO, (September 4, 2009) – Community Health Services (CHS) will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration in honor of our new Wellness Center at the new Adams City High School. The Grand Opening Celebration, complete with an official “Band-Aid Cutting” Ceremony, will take place on Thursday, September 17th from 2:30 to 4:30PM at Adams City High School, located at 7200 Quebec Parkway in Commerce City. The Band-Aid Cutting Ceremony will take place at approximately 3:30PM. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served and we will offer tours of the Wellness Center as well as information on the services available at our new facility.

This expansion, made possible through a generous grant from The Colorado Health Foundation, includes a comprehensive adolescent wellness program focusing on primary and preventative health care services and mental health. CHS is proud to present the Wellness Center in collaboration with Adams County School District 14.

The Wellness Center is providing services to Adams City High School students including health and mental health services. Students are provided immunizations, physical exams, mental health counseling, acute illness care, and substance abuse counseling. In addition, medications and care for chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes are provided on a regular basis. The center will be open during school hours and is free of charge for students.
