Seasonal Classic Taking Center Stage in Denver

(Nashville, TN) Legendary singer/songwriter Michael Martin Murphey will spread the magic of the season in Denver with his Cowboy Christmas show on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Paramount Theatre. Show time is set for 7:30 p.m. The annual tour has become a holiday tradition over the artist’s storied career. The performance will include his heart-warming hits, mistletoe songs, and an instrumental journey of Christmas folklore. The music icon’s spell-bounding show will create holiday wonder that’s sprinkled with joy and spiced with family fun.

Michael Martin Murphey, America’s best-selling cowboy music singer, created Cowboy Christmas in 1987. The tour is based on a celebrated Texas tradition known as the Cowboy Christmas Ball which began in 1885 and remains a holiday treasure.

The Dallas native has received countless awards during his extraordinary career. Murphey’s most recent honor is being named Entertainer of the Year at the Texas Music Awards. His hit songs include "Wildfire," "Cowboy Logic," "Carolina in the Pines," "What's Forever For," and "Long Line of Love." Other cherished songs include "Geronimo's Cadillac" and “Cherokee Fiddle”.

Murphey’s hit CD, “Buckaroo Blue Grass,” has generated rave reviews. CMT chose "Buckaroo Blue Grass" (released in February 2009) as one of the 10 independent albums that music fans should check out in 2009. It features acoustic versions of singer’s songs that have been recorded by Bluegrass bands over the years. “Cowboy Classics – Old West Cowboy Collection” CD (released in June 2009) has also proven a huge success. Rural Rhythm Records is set to release Murphey’s highly anticipated “Buckaroo Blue Grass 2” CD in February 2010.
