City to plant tree in celebration of Arbor Day

COMMERCE CITY – The public is invited to participate in Commerce City’s celebration of Arbor Day, Saturday, April 17 at Derby Park, 7310 Highway 2.

City leaders will be presented with a Tree City USA award, the city’s 19th consecutive honor. The award is given by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.


A large evergreen tree will be planted at the event, which begins at 10 a.m. at Derby Park . The city will distribute seedlings to Arbor Day attendees to promote interest in tree planting and care throughout the community. Refreshments will be provided.
