Adams Sheriff Saga, Darr vs. Nicastle

Adams County voters will be voting for a sheriff soon. The two choices include the Democrat incumbent Sheriff Doug Darr versus recently switched party veteran deputy Mark Nicastle.

Recently, Adams County deputy Mark Nicastle filed a complaint with the U.S. District Court alleging his opponent, incumbent Darr is interfering with his political campaign. In the complaint, Nicastle claims his 1st and 14th U.S. Amendment rights were violated.

Nicastle claims that Darr is preventing him from conducting a political campaign and was demoted without due process.

Darr reports he has not interfered with Nicastle's campaign. Further, Darr states that Nicastle's setbacks in the department were based on performance, not politics.

More on this as it develops.

  2. In your article you said, "The two choices include the Democrat incumbent Sheriff Doug Darr versus recently switched party veteran deputy Mark Nicastle." Okay, could there be a third choice in this up coming election. James Fariello of Brighton, an Unaffiliated candidate is putting in a bid as the third choice for voters, http://www.2010back2basics.com.
