Denver, CO –April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and to honor the thousands of children who are victims and survivors of child abuse each year, Child Advocates – Denver CASA is hosting its annual Light of Hope Breakfast on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 7:30 am until 8:30 am at the Denver Marriott City Center located at 1701 California Street, Denver, CO.
This year’s honorary chair is Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. Special guest speakers include Governor Bill Ritter, the Honorable Donna Schmalberger, Denver Juvenile Court Judge and Mitch Morrissey, Denver District Attorney. The event is emceed by Molly Hughes. In addition, there will be a special performance by the Rocky Mountain Children’s Choir.
There is no cost for this event. The Light of Hope Breakfast is a fundraising event for Child Advocates – Denver CASA and all guests will be invited to make a financial pledge to support our mission and programs. The mission of Child Advocates – Denver CASA is to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in Denver Juvenile Court through the services of specially selected and trained community volunteers from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
