Four District 27J schools and Belle Creek Charter School that had been placed in “lock out” this morning have been cleared to return to normal operations.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., Belle Creek and 27J’s Thimmig Elementary were put on “lock out” by the Commerce City Police Department because of an incident in that area.
As a precaution, the Brighton Police Department placed Henderson Elementary, Prairie View Middle and Prairie View High School on lock out for a short time.
Thimmig Elementary was released from the lock-out after about an hour.
Belle Creek Charter School was released from the lock-out at about 1:05 p.m. At that time, Commerce City Police also notified School District 27J that the situation was all clear.
