Aurora – E-470 Public Highway Authority Executive Director Edward J. DeLozier died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 in an Austin, Texas hospital as the result of a stroke suffered Tuesday afternoon (April 21).
The stroke occurred in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport as DeLozier was about to board a return flight to Denver following his attendance at an industry conference. He was immediately taken by ambulance to University Medical Center at Brackenridge.
His wife, Lynn DeLozier, and other members of the family, flew from Denver to Austin Tuesday night to be with her husband.
DeLozier, 58, joined E-470 as executive director on January 11, 1999.
John McCuskey, deputy executive director for E-470, will be acting executive director at this time.
Ed Tauer, E-470’s Board Chair and Mayor of Aurora, said, “Everyone in the E-470 family is greatly saddened by Ed’s death. Ed was a unique soul. We will miss his warm, personal leadership style and sense of humor. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ed’s wife, family and many friends.”
Funeral arrangements for DeLozier are not known at this time.
