GOV. RITTER STATEMENT HONORING KELI McGREGOR

Gov. Bill Ritter issued the following statement this morning prior to today’s memorial service honoring Colorado Rockies President Keli McGregor:

“Today, Colorado joins the nation and the baseball community in mourning the loss of Keli McGregor. The legacy that Keli has left on the game of baseball is overshadowed by the legacy he left on the countless lives he touched here at home in Colorado. He was a giant of a man, not only in his stature, but in his charisma and genuine friendliness. When Keli was in the room, everyone could feel his personality.

“I first met him as District Attorney when the All-Star game was hosted here in Denver, and he left an indelible mark on me as we became friends. His zeal for living each day with integrity, passion and a belief in doing things the right way will not soon be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, children and the entire Rockies organization on this sad day.”
