Governor Candidate Yoon Joo Mager's view on Immigration
First priority of immigration is respect for and enforcement of the national borders. No incentives to allow illegals to enter and stay (anchor babies, promise of amnesty). Strong policy against employment of illegal immigrants should be enforced through heavy fines and jail terms for violators. Encourage and open immigration to those who can make positive contributions to economy and society. Deportation of felons, undesirables and non-contributing illegal immigrants should remain a viable means of controlling illegal immigration. Cities should not be allowed to establish themselves as “refuge cities,” in violation of immigration laws. State and federal cooperation is essential and should be strongly encouraged.
