COMMERCE CITY- On Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 1:34 p.m., Commerce City police officers responded to the 14700 block of E 104th Avenue on a double rollover accident. A 2007 Nissan Xterra was east-bound on 104th Avenue when a west-bound 1994 Jeep Wrangler attempted to make a left hand turn into the Aspen Hills Townhomes complex. The vehicles collided in the intersection causing both vehicles to roll over.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Jeep was taken by helicopter to Denver Health with serious injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 30-year-old female, was transported by ambulance to Denver Health with minor injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
The Commerce City Police Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the accident.
East 104th Avenue is expected to be closed in both directions until 5:00 p.m.
