On July 21, 2010 at 1pm, the Commerce City Police Department responded to the Interstate 270 bridge over US Highway 85, on a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle accident.A motorcycle with two occupants was traveling eastbound at the US Highway 85 exit ramp when the driver lost control. The two occupants were ejected from the motorcycle. One of the occupants sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The other occupant was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be involved in this incident.
The names of the occupants are not being released at this time, pending notification of family and next of kin.
