Make your pet a pin-up for a good cause

Dumb Friends League hosts pet calendar contest

The Dumb Friends League is searching for the next top pet models to serve as pin-ups in their 2011 calendar. Pet owners can submit photographs of their cat, dog or other critters for a chance to be featured as a “Pet of the Month.”
“Our pet calendar contest is a great way for pet owners to show off their favorite photos of their beloved companions while giving back and helping support the needy animals in our care,” said Rick Gabrielson, vice president of development and communications.

All qualified photographs will be included in the full-color, wall calendar, and every entrant will receive a free 2011 calendar. Contest submissions are accepted online at ddfl.org or by mail. All entries must be postmarked by August 15, and the entry fee is $35 per photograph, with proceeds benefiting the Dumb Friends League.

“Funds raised via this contest will help provide care for more than 25,000 animals this year,” said Gabrielson. “In addition to adopting homeless pets, the Dumb Friends League offers other services, including lost and found, humane education, animal cruelty investigations, and donor-subsidized spay/neuter for pets in underserved areas.”
