At 11:08 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2010, the Brighton Police Dept, Brighton Fire Dept, and Platte Valley Ambulance were dispatched to an accident involving a Dodge Durango and a bicyclist at the intersection of 12th Ave. and Walnut St. in Brighton.The bicyclist was transported by Platte Valley Ambulance to Denver Health Medical Center where he died. The victim was identified as Earl Mowery Jr, 61, of Brighton.
The driver of the Durango, a juvenile female, was not injured. Her name is not being released due to her age.
The accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Det. Mike Payne at 303-655-2367
