Adams County Awards SCFD Funds

The Adams County Board of Commissioners and Adams County Cultural Council held the annual Check Presentation Ceremony on Oct. 21, 2010. Over $700,000 was awarded to 43 organizations to fund local programs and visual arts projects.
Grant funds come from Adams County’s portion of Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) funds collected regionally. Recipients are selected by the eight-member Adams County Cultural Council and submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval in public hearing.

The following organizations will receive SCFD funding:

The SCFD provides funding for arts, scientific, cultural and historical organizations through a one-cent sales tax on every $10 spent. The SCFD funds more than 300 organizations throughout the seven-county metro area and is a nationally recognized model for cultural funding.
