Increase in First Degree Criminal Trespasses in Northern Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY ― Since August 2010, the police department has noticed a significant increase in First Degree Criminal Trespasses (breaking into cars) in the northern area of Commerce City. Most break-ins have taken place along East 104th Avenue between Highway 2 and Tower Road. In most cases the thefts occurred at night and the identified vehicles were unlocked.
The Commerce City Police Department is following all leads regarding the thefts, and has increased patrols in the area. The department is asking for the public’s help: call 911 to report all suspicious activity and remove all valuables from your cars and lock your cars .

The Commerce City Police Department will be holding a community meeting to discuss issues and concerns over the recent criminal activity on Wednesday, Oct 6, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Otho E Stuart Middle School, 15955 E 101st Way.
