Investigation of allegations against Adams County Treasurer

On Friday October 8, 2010 at 4:25 PM, documents were dropped off at the Adams County District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with a request of the District Attorney to conduct an investigation into an allegation that Adams County Treasurer Diane Christner has used a County copy machine to duplicate her campaign literature. Since the Adams County Administration building is located in Brighton, CO, the District Attorney asked the Brighton Police to participate in a joint investigation.

The secretary of state's web site showed Christner turned over $600 to the county "to pay for printing" and $58.71 for printing paper. Those documents were part of Christner's expense reports filed Oct. 7.

Documents are currently being reviewed and witnessed are being interviewed. No further comment will be made until the conclusion of the investigation.
