Brighton Boards and Commission positions available

The city of Brighton will accept applications for the following Board and Commission positions through Friday, Dec. 3:

Historic Preservation Commission (one professional opening): The Historic Preservation Commission reviews resources designating historic sites, reviews and makes decisions on alterations of historic sites, assists owners of historic properties on physical and financial aspects of historic preservation, and develops and assists in public education programs to historic preservation. They meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (two member openings): The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is looking for two members with special knowledge of and/or experience with farming and agricultural land preservation. The board meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.

Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office, 22 S. 4th Ave., Suite 305, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The application is also available at and click on “I Want To” and then “Apply for Boards and Commissions.” Completed applications should be returned to the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3.
