Brighton’s Municipal Channel 8 now available on the Web

In an ongoing effort to enhance communication and to spotlight the city, Brighton’s Government and Education Channel, Comcast Cable KBRI-Channel 8, will premiere live streaming on the city’s Web site beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, during the regular City Council meeting. Web users from around the world can visit www.brightonco.gov and click on “Online Services” and then “Watch KBRI Live” to catch Channel 8 programming at any time.

Users can watch via the Web what is airing on Channel 8 at the current moment. Meetings and many original programs, including “Inside Brighton” and “Action! For Active Senior Adults,” will be available on-demand when the Web user requests it via the posted archived videos.

Council meetings will simultaneously air live on Channel 8 and the city’s Web site. The following day, viewers can visit the site to review the meeting in its entirety or click on any specific agenda item which will take them to that portion of the meeting.

Web streaming will allow Brighton residents and others instant access to information from the city of Brighton. It will also allow those that are unable to attend a council meeting at City Hall the ability to view the meeting live or at a later date.
