Insufficient evidence to file criminal charges

The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced the completion of its review of the case file of the October 2010 sexual assault allegations involving two off-duty Westminster Police Officers alleged to have taken place in Broomfield, Colorado. The Broomfield Police Department conducted a thorough investigation and presented their findings to the District Attorney’s Office. The DA’s Office then met with the named victim of the investigation and also reviewed witness statements. Based upon the investigation information, an examination of the evidence with the Broomfield Police Department, and meetings with the victim, the District Attorney’s Office determined that there is insufficient evidence to file criminal charges. This decision has been discussed with the named victim. The case has been referred to the Westminster Police Department for an internal investigation.
