Brighton - Pre-applications being accepted for Section 8 waitlist

The Brighton Housing Authority (BHA) will be accepting pre-applications for the Section 8 waitlist from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14 and Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the BHA office, 22 S. 4th Ave., Suite A-1 (located in the building in the parking lot at City Hall).

The Section 8 Housing Program is a federally-funded program designed to assist low-income families with their housing needs. Program participants pay approximately 30 to 40 percent of their adjusted income toward rent paid directly to their landlord. The Brighton Housing Authority pays the balance directly to the landlord. This program allows elderly persons (62 years+), disabled persons, and families to live in a variety of different neighborhoods.

Applicants must meet the income guidelines established annually by the Housing Urban and Development in order to qualify for the program.
