Brighton Festival of Lights Parade this Saturday; over 75 fully-lighted floats

The city of Brighton proudly presents the 15th Annual Festival of Lights Parade at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. The parade will begin on North Main and head east on Bridge Street and south on 10th. Over 75 fully-lighted entries will be featured which highlight the theme of “A Hometown Holiday Tradition.”

Additional Winter Festival activities include:

2 p.m. – Activities at City Hall, 22 S. 4th Ave.

* Cup’A History Tea and Tour of the 100 year old historic City Hall
* Brighton Action Stage – local dance groups will perform.
* Santa visits
* Hayrides
* Petting zoo
* Teddy Bear Tree – children 10 and under may take a free stuffed animal home

4:15 p.m.(registration begins at 3 p.m.) – 2nd Annual Paw/Pal Run
Team up with “man’s best friend” to run this 1.5k fun run/walk down Main Street from Longspeak, to Bridge Street and through downtown. Information: 720-422-0591

4:30 p.m. - Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall – Mayor McLean and City Council members will count down the lighting of the three-story evergreen tree covered in over 6,000 lights.

8 p.m. – Holiday Musical, The Armory at Brighton Cultural Center, 300 Strong St.

Capture a video of the parade on KBRI Channel 8 or at www.brightonco.gov, “Online Services,” “Watch KBRI Live,” approximately one week after the event.
