Adams County School District 14 Health Grows!

You could say Adams 14’s health and wellness has grown exponentially – 15 feet to be exact

Thanks to a grant from the USDA, Adams 14’s Nutrition Services Department has increased its fresh fruit and vegetable orders so much that the 20 foot truck that once delivered the produce has been replaced with a 35 foot truck.

Adams 14 students enjoy a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables each day – including avocados, strawberries, jicama, asparagus and kiwi!

This week, the Adams 14 food service team met at Adams City High School for a special workshop hosted by Chef Andy from Denver Public Schools. Attendees learned best practices for preparing and serving fresh fruits and vegetables to students – with the end goal of making consumption of healthy foods easy and enjoyable for kids.
