City’s tree program helps residents get trees at reasonable cost

There are still trees available for purchase through the city of Brighton Tree Program. Twelve different species are available this year. All species are excellent selections for Brighton with five shade tree species and seven smaller ornamental species to choose from.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase appropriate trees at a reasonable price. Bare root trees are $32.58 each, and ball and burlap trees are $48.87 each. Most trees are 5 to 7 feet tall and can weigh up to 50 pounds.

To look at tree species and download an order form, go to www.brightonco.gov and click on Departments, Parks and Recreation, Forestry. Orders are placed on a first come, first served basis. Trees will be available for pick-up in April.

Trees are purchased through the Colorado Tree Coalition and all proceeds go to benefit their organization. Visit them at www.coloradotrees.org or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/coloradotreecoalition.
