Brighton: Missing Autistic High School Student, Update: Found Safely

UPDATE: About 2:00 p.m. today Greeley police received a citizen report that Mungia was seen in Greeley. Officers from Greeley currently have Mungia in their custody and he is safe. Brighton Police, Greeley Police and the Denver office of the FBI are investigating to determine how Mungia got to Greeley and are retracing his steps.

Brighton Police are currently searching for a juvenile who was reported missing about 9 p.m., Monday night. Fourteen year old Brennen Daniel Mungia was last seen at Brighton High School about 12:30 p.m., where he attends classes.

Mungia is a Hispanic male approximately 5’0” tall, 90 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. He wears a black jacket, grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and carries a maroon colored backpack. Mungia comes and goes to school on his own by riding the school bus. Mungia lives in the Bromley Park subdivision in Brighton, near 160th Avenue and 50th Street.

Officers searched throughout the night and continue to investigate the circumstances of his disappearance.
