Commerce City continues on its path of becoming a greener city

Commerce City heads towards improving sustainability with the installation of 429 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof top of the civic center. It is being funded in part of an $185,200 energy efficiency community block development grant the city successfully competed for in 2010. When complete, the City will save 125,018 kwH annually, translating to $11,602 in annual utility cost savings. The solar panels are being installed from a local Commerce City business firm Douglass Colony Group.
