Brighton Police seek help identifying pool vandals

Brighton police are investigating vandalism to the new Brighton Oasis water park which occurred during the early-morning hours of Friday, June 17, 2011, hours before a scheduled ribbon-cutting ceremony at the facility.

Surveillance footage from the park shows six unidentified adults climbing the fence into the facility, placing facility furniture in the pool, and later pouring an unidentified liquid into the pool before leaving the facility. Concern for public safety necessitated a complete decontamination of the pool prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony that morning because of the unknown liquid the suspects put into the pool.

A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, and callers may remain anonymous.

Police ask that anyone who has any information about the incident, or can identify any of the individuals in the attached images, to call Officer Francisco Alba at (720) 685-7301, or to leave information on the Graffiti-Stoppers Tip Line, (303) 655-2399.
