City Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the New Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park

The City of Brighton invites community members to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new aquatic park at 10 a.m. this Friday. City officials and city council members will be on hand to celebrate the opening of the Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park located at 1852 E. Bromley Lane .

The Brighton Oasis opened last Friday and brought in more than 600 visitors over the weekend. The park features a lazy river with wave generator, tot pool with play feature, two water slides and a water basketball area. In addition, the park features a full concession stand as well as lockers and a pavilion for birthday parties and rentals.

The City broke ground on the $5.9 million aquatic park last December. Pinkard Construction Co. was the primary contractor building the new facility, which replaces the 50-year-old outdoor pool at Benedict Park.

The new park will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Sunday and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Cost for residents is $2.50 for children 2 to 5, $4 for children 6 to 17 and seniors 60 and older, and $4.50 for adults. Children under 2 are free with a paying adult. For more information on the park or to learn more about prices on season passes and punch cards, visit www.brightonco.gov or call 303.655.2200.
