Adams County Assessor Gil Reyes |
The Denver Post reported that Reyes had three possible honorarium violations. The District Attorney’s Office investigated three allegations and during the investigation it was discovered that only one violation could be charged due to the expiration of the statute of limitations in the other two incidents.

all these officials doing bad things and yet not one single resignation. Unreal. Adams County has really made a name for itself in the last year.
ReplyDeleteSeems to be he got off pretty easy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this would be something you would resign over. Only a misdemeanor.
ReplyDeleteHe paid a fine of $300 that was agreed on in a plea bargain! Wish it would have been the entire $1000!
ReplyDeleteWhy is the ethics commission not getting involved? Or are they?
ReplyDeleteThe Adams County commissioners asked the state Independent Ethics Commission to look into whether Reyes had violated the law by accepting the gifts.
ReplyDeleteThe report on Reyes' operation will become public next month at a meeting of the State Board of Equalization. The meeting is set for 1 p.m. on Aug. 16 in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Services Building at 200 E. 14th Ave. in Denver.
ReplyDeleteGina, he may have only been charged with a misdemeanor because of the statute of limitations.
ReplyDeleteI think he should resign, he and his actions (who knows what else he did that wasn't caught) are shameful
