Adams County Assessor Gil Reyes Pleads Guilty

Adams County Assessor Gil Reyes
Adams County Assessor Gil Reyes plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of failure to report a gift of accepting Rockies tickets and was fined $300. The penalty could have been anywhere from $50 to $1000 fine.

The Denver Post reported that Reyes had three possible honorarium violations. The District Attorney’s Office investigated three allegations and during the investigation it was discovered that only one violation could be charged due to the expiration of the statute of limitations in the other two incidents.

  1. all these officials doing bad things and yet not one single resignation. Unreal. Adams County has really made a name for itself in the last year.

  3. I don't think this would be something you would resign over. Only a misdemeanor.

He paid a fine of $300 that was agreed on in a plea bargain! Wish it would have been the entire $1000!

Why is the ethics commission not getting involved? Or are they?

  6. The Adams County commissioners asked the state Independent Ethics Commission to look into whether Reyes had violated the law by accepting the gifts.

  8. Gina, he may have only been charged with a misdemeanor because of the statute of limitations.
I think he should resign, he and his actions (who knows what else he did that wasn't caught) are shameful
