Refuge Day Celebration

Explore the "wild side" of Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge at its free, annual Refuge Day celebration on October 15, 2011, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Enjoy the festivities at the Refuge's new Visitor Center to celebrate national wildlife refuge week.

Experience the Refuge's hometown habitat through family fun activities, wildlife viewing tours, hands-on exhibits, a Refuge scavenger hunt, and wildlife arts and crafts. Join us for presentations in our new auditorium:
10:00 am – 11:00 am Wild Birds Unlimited – More Birding, More Often, More Fun!
11:15 am – 12:15 pm Michael Mauro – Wildlife Photography Tips and Tricks
12:45 pm – 1:45 pm Denver Zoo – Colorado Alive!
2:15 pm – 3:00 pm All About Bison – Tom Ronning, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service


Winners of the Refuge's 1st annual amateur photography contest will be announced at 12:20 pm.

Snacks and lunch will be available for a small fee provided by the Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges.


Throughout the event, 45-minute wildlife viewing tours will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
