Commerce City Police and Northglenn Police need your help in identifying a suspicious party

COMMERCE CITY – On October 17, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. a 13 year old girl was walking to school in the 7100 block of Birch Street. An older faded purple and gray passenger van, very similar to a 1999 Dodge Caravan, pulled up next to her the Hispanic male driver said in English with a Spanish accent, “Do you want a ride?” When the girl said “No”, the male said, in a calm voice, “Get in the car.” The girl ran to the school and the male in the car drove northbound on Birch St.

Have you seen this man?

A composite of the suspect was done and sent to Metro agencies. Northglenn Police Department reported a similar incident matching the suspect description.

In the Northglenn case on October 20, 2011 at 3:20 p.m. in the 10700 block of Claire Lane a 10 year old male was walking home from school a Hispanic male driving a small black two door compact car pulled up next to him opened the car door and asked the boy to get into the car. The boy became scared and ran home.

The Hispanic male party is described as in his 20-30s, average to thin build and dark hair. In each incident the clothing was different; in the Commerce City case he was last seen wearing a gray shirt. In Northglenn’s case he was last seen wearing a gray beanie, green tank top and black pants.
