Police arrest three in early-morning shooting

Brighton police have arrested three individuals in connection with a shooting which occurred at about 1:45 a.m. this morning at 100 S. 18th Avenue, in Brighton.
Police were initially dispatched on a report of shots fired; when they arrived on scene, they found a 20-year-old male and a 19-year-old male with gunshot wounds, as well a 17-year-old female and a 22-year-old male with apparent stab wounds.

Based upon information gained in the course of the investigation, police believed parties of interest in the incident were inside a residence in the 100 block of N. 7th Ave.; as police prepared to execute a search warrant on the residence, one of the parties being sought was spotted driving near the area, and was taken into custody.

Assisted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, police executed a no-knock search warrant on a house at 133 N. 7th Avenue at about 1:00 p.m., in an attempt to locate the remaining parties of interest; the parties were not found inside the home, but were arrested without incident a short time later at another location in Brighton.

At this time, all parties of interest in the incident are in police custody. Police have arrested Kevin Taylor (DOB 09/06/1971), a 15-year-old female, and a 17-year-old male; the juveniles’ identities are not being released, but all three face multiple felony charges.
