Closure of 69th Avenue scheduled for Tuesday

Construction activities will remove existing spur railroad track

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – Commerce City and the Union Pacific Railroad will close 69th Avenue between Fairfax Drive and Brighton Road beginning at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011. This closure is needed to remove the existing spur railroad track, wooden surface crossing, and replace asphalt paving. Weather pending, this closure is scheduled to last through Friday, Dec. 23, 2011. During the closure, signage will direct drivers to use 72nd Avenue to detour around the work zone.
