Agricultural Land Preservation subcommittee to host community meeting to gather input on land preservation in Brighton

Brighton’s Agricultural Land Preservation subcommittee is hosting an informational community meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at the new Eagle View Adult Center, 1150 Prairie Center Parkway.

Boulder County’s Resource Planning Division will describe their highly successful program responsible for the acquisition of more than 24,000 acres of agricultural land while preserving the agricultural way of life in Boulder County. Members of Adams County’s Parks and Open Space department and Brighton’s Community Development department will be on hand to describe current agricultural land preservation efforts and answer questions.

Through the efforts of two committees, the City has been exploring options for permanently preserving agricultural lands in the Brighton area. Please join us in a discussion on areas best suited for preservation and explore the tools available to accomplish this goal. Your ideas and suggestions are critical in shaping the future of our community.

For more information, contact Parks and Recreation Director Gary Wardle at 303-655-2135 or gwardle@brightonco.gov.
