Brighton Fire awarded grant to help with upgrades

BRIGHTON--Brighton Fire was recently awarded an Assistance To Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The total award amount was $87,840 and the grant will cover $70,272 of the total cost of the new equipment. Brighton Fire will be responsible for $17,568. The grant will help purchase a sprinkler system for station 51 (425 S Main St) and an exhaust removal system for station 52 (5 Firehouse Road).

Division Chief John Schissler and Firefighter Ken Maine submitted the grant. Without their hard work, we would not be getting this new equipment at this time.
